Local Beer, Fun in the Sun, and the Hunt for Fool’s Gold!

(04/25/2013)

After a week to wind down from this year’s edition of Peace, Love, and Hoppyness, we have yet another fantastic Craft Brew-centric event to gear up for: The Great Vegas Festival of Beer at Sunset Park!

Taking place at the newly renovated Sunset Park from 3-7pm, the Big Dog’s crew is excited to see how the open landscape and upgrades to parking and facilities will foster this festival that will host thousands of beer-loving Las Vegans and tourists alike!

One can expect to enjoy brews from the pioneers in craft brewing world, such as Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, and Dogfish Head; many new to Nevada goodies such as Port Brewing,  Hangar 24, and Fort Collins Brewing, and of course your Local favorites; all well represented!

Be sure to stop by the Nevada Craft Brewers Pavilion, which will house all of your favorite Northern & Southern Nevada craft breweries.  This is also the spot to snag a sample of the first collaboration beer brewed by the guild- Pyrite Pale Ale!

This saucy extra pale ale rings in at 6.8%, and was brewed at Joseph James Brewing Co. under the careful eyes of their brewers, as well as those from Chicago Brewing Co., Tenaya Creek, 777 Brewpub, Pints of Laughlin, and of course Big Dog’s.  All breweries contributed time toward the recipe and brewday, as well as chipped in on the different ingredients, such as loads of Centennial and Simcoe hops!  Don’t wait too long to stop by for a taste of Pyrite Pale Ale!

Snag your tickets now at GreatVegasBeer.com, and know you’re doing your part to support two great Nevada charities; the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas, and the Nevada Craft Brewers Association, which is out to protect your locally produced, handcrafted beer.

Remember to follow our previously posted “Beer Festival Survival Guide” and be sure to say Hi! to the Big Dog’s Brewing team!
