BIG DOG’S ANNOUNCES “3 CHEERS FOR CHARITY” PROGRAM, ALLOWS GUESTS TO DIRECT CHARITABLE GIVING
Big Dog’s Brewing Company is proud to announce its “Three Cheers for Charity” program that takes place each and every Thursday at each of Big Dog’s two Las Vegas locations. This innovative program is a partnership between Big Dog’s and its Thursday guests. Big Dog’s provides each customer that buys a Big Dog’s Brewing Company brew a wooden nickel. The guest then takes their wooden nickel and places their vote in a special ballot box by each exit door. Big Dog’s features three worthwhile charities each month. The guest places their nickel in the slot of the charity that they want Big Dog’s Brewing Company to support. Big Dog’s donates a quarter for each ballot. Guests are encouraged to “feel great by doing good while drinking well!”
The featured charities for the month of April are Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation, Badger Desert Classic, and The Animal Foundation.
About Big Dog’s Brewing Company
Big Dog’s Brewing Company continues the legacy of award winning brews started by its predecessor, the Holy Cow Brewing Company, which served as Las Vegas’ original brewery from 1992 through 2002. Housed at Big Dog’s Draft House at 4543 N. Rancho Road, and opened in December 2003, Big Dog’s Brewing Company brews are hand-crafted in a state of the art 15-barrel microbrewery system. Brewmaster Dave Otto brews a wide range of beers to suit everyone’s tastes from light beers to robust stouts. Big Dog’s beers have been awarded four World Beer Cup and seven Great American Beer Festival medals throughout its existence. In addition to Big Dog’s Draft House, Big Dog’s brews are also served at Big Dog’s Café and Casino (Sahara at Torrey Pines) and at select accounts throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The Three Cheers for Charity program applies at Big Dog's locations only.
Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation
It is the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation's goal to help under-privileged children through the Las Vegas valley. We provide incentives to children who have achieved their goals. Common goals that PKYF sets for individual children are good grades, citizenship and school attendance. Children who meet these goals receive a new bicycle and helmet. It is our goal to touch at least 300 elementary students in 2010. In addition to rewarding the elementary children, we want to fund at least (2) $20,000 scholarships for deserving high school seniors.
Badger Desert Classic
Big Dog’s founder, Tom Wiesner, had an unwavering commitment to the University of Wisconsin and its Athletic programs. In 1992, he established the Badger Desert Classic program to raise scholarship funds for the “Tom Wiesner Scholarship Endowment Fund.” Over its 18 years, the program has raised over $1 million dollars in scholarship funds.
The Animal Foundation
The Animal Foundation is a private, non-profit, multi-service agency that operates Nevada’s largest open-admission shelter (Lied Animal Shelter). Our mission is to inspire and enable people to join the fight against pet overpopulation. To eliminate the tragedy of pet overpopulation, The Animal Foundation believes community is essential, education is empowerment, and action is everything. Services offered include pet adoptions, low-cost spay and neuter procedures, cost-effective vaccination services, and volunteering and foster opportunities. Through our variety of services and programs, we are making positive strides in reducing the number of lost and unwanted animals received at our shelter each year.
