When you purchase a Big Dog's Brew each Thursday, you not only receive a delicious, award-winning hand crafted beer to enjoy, but you also receive a wooded Big Dog's Brewing Co. token. What in the world is the Wooden Nickel for?

Every Thursday at your neighborhood Big Dog’s, we celebrate 3 Cheers for Charity! For each Big Dog’s Brew you buy, Big Dog’s will donate 25¢ to a charity of your choice. As you enjoy your Big Dog’s Brew, we give you a wooden nickel for each beer you buy throughout the day and night, every Thursday. Each token represents a 25¢ donation.

At each entrance, you will see a wooden box at each door. Each box has 3 slots, one for each of our featured charities. The featured charities will change from time to time. All are good causes worthy of our support. It’s easy - on your way out the door, just place the tokens you’ve received in the wooden box in the slot designated for your charity of choice. We’ll take care of the rest.

So now you can feel great by doing good while drinking well! :)

Our current featured charities:

SLOT 1: Habitat For Humanity Las Vegas

Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas builds single family homes throughout Clark County for working families earning less than 80% of Area Median Income. The home is sold at no profit through a no-interest mortgage. Families volunteer their labor to help build Habitat homes, including the one they will eventually purchase. We are a 501 (c) 3 private, non-profit organization accredited by the United Way. Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas revitalizes and stabilizes neighborhoods in our community that cannot support private development. Sponsors, donors, volunteers and families work together to build homes, settle families and grow a community of neighbors.

SLOT 2: Heaven Can Wait

Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) animal humane organization, was formed in 2000. Their mission is to eliminate companion animal suffering & pet overpopulation through aggressive spay/neuter, adoptions, community outreach programs, and education. In addition to focusing on animal spay and neuter programs, Heaven Can Wait successfully operates several additional programs aimed at reducing animal suffering and euthanizations through educational and rehabilitation programs throughout the community. Heaven Can Wait and its programs are made possible with generous donations from the community and the relentless spirit of our wonderful volunteers to make a difference every day in the lives of animals.

SLOT 3: Three Square

The vision of Three Square is simple: No one in our community should be hungry. By bringing together the resources, experience and passion of the people and businesses of Southern Nevada, we can make sure no one has to. We provide bakery, produce, dairy, non-perishable products and ready-to-eat meals to non-profit and faith-based organizations. We also facilitate childhood and senior nutrition programs. Three Square is a community collaborative partnership with the gaming industry, businesses, non-profit agencies, food distributors, UNLV, the CCSD, governmental entities, the media and hundreds of volunteers to efficiently and effectively serve hope to the hungry.
