Las Vegas Nevada, September 28, 2015 : Big Dog’s Brewing Company claimed a gold medal at the 2015 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition. Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest national beer competition that recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. The top three winners in the competition’s 92 beer categories were announced September 26 at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.
Big Dog’s Red Hydrant Ale was awarded the Gold Medal in the English-style brown category. In addition, Red Hydrant has also been awarded the Gold Award at the prestigious World Beer Cup competition in 2006 and 2010. Throughout the years, Big Dog’s has been awarded with nine GABF medals and four World Beer Cup Awards.
“We are extremely excited to receive this award,” said Kurt Wiesner, Owner of Big Dog’s Brewing Company. “This award shines a bright spotlight on the great beers that are being made by Dave Otto, our Head Brewer, and his team. Dave has been making great world-class beers here in Las Vegas for the better part of 20 years. We are extremely proud of his dedication to producing excellent craft beers and are thrilled that the GABF has honored him and Big Dog’s with this award.”
