Big Dog's teams up with the NCBA to host "Vegas Strong" Tap Takeover Fund Raiser for Vegas Victims Fund



Special event to take place at Big Dog’s Brewing Company on Thursday, October 19th

Las Vegas, NV, October 10, 2017– Big Dog’s Brewing Company is pleased to host a charity fund raiser organized by the members of the Nevada Craft Brewers Association to raise funds for the Vegas victims.  The event, a Nevada Beer tap Takeover, will take place at Big Dog’s Brewing Company, 4543 N. Rancho Drive Las Vegas, NV 89130 on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 5 pm.  Many of Nevada’s brewing community are donating beer to be used to raise money for the victims of the Las Vegas shooting massacre on October 1, 2017. For a $5 donation per glass, patrons will be able to choose one of over 20 Nevada-made beers.  All proceeds will be donated to the Vegas Victims Fund.

“The brewing community has been touched by the outpouring of support for the victims of this tragedy.  The community has come together is such a way that we can all be proud.  However, we know that more money is needed to help the victims and their families during the days and months ahead,” says Robert Snyder, Treasurer of the Nevada Craft Brewers Association.  “For this event, we will be bringing together some of the best in Nevada-made beers and doing our part to help the cause.”

Also featured at this event will be three beers that were recently recognized as being among the nation’s best in the recently completed Great American Beer Festival competition in Denver, CO.  Big Dog’s Brewing Company’s “Tripel Dog Dare” was awarded the gold medal in the Belgain Tripel category.  Joseph James’s “Imperial Smoked Porter with Cocoa Nibs” was awarded the gold medal in the Chocolate Beer category.  PT’s Brewing Company’s “Boulder Stout” was awarded the Bronze Medal in the Irish Stout category.  The Great American Beer Festival competition is the “National Championship” of judged beer competitions in the United States.

The “Vegas Strong Tap Takeover” event is free to the public.  Food and beverage will be available for purchase.  The featured Nevada beers will be poured for donations to the Vegas Victims Fund.  The event starts at 5 pm and ends at 11 pm on Thursday, October 19th.  Big Dog’s Brewing company will also host live music starring Ms. Sahara Prade on its front patio.

Big Dog’s Brewing Company is Southern Nevada’s oldest brewing operation.  Having started in 1993 as Holy Cow! Brewing Company, the operations shifted to Big Dog’s Draft House in 2003. Big Dog’s operates a 15-barrel brewhouse that specializes in a wide variety of beers styles throughout the year, including India Pale Ales, Belgian-inspired brews, and luscious, barrel-aged stouts and porters.  Big Dog’s beers have been awarded 14 awards in major national and international judged competitions since 1993, including medals in the past three Great American Beer Fest competitions.  Dave Pascual, its Director of Brewing Operations, is the most decorated brewer in Nevada having won 10 major medals and awards from national and international competitions in his 15+ years of brewing experience.
