Big Dog’s is pleased to announce charity tie-ins for the upcoming DOGtoberfest event that is taking place on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Big Dog’s Brewing Company in Las Vegas.  In addition to the traditional tie-in to raise money and awareness for the Animal Foundation, this year’s event will also raise money for the Vegas Victims fund to assist the victims and impacted families that been touched by the recent mass shooting tragedy in Las Vegas.

Animal Foundation Tie-Ins for DOGtoberfest 2017

$1 from the sale of each festival package sold will be donated to the Animal Foundation, operators of the Clark County Animal Shelter.  The cash donation benefits the general fund of the Foundation and supports its core mission of promoting animal welfare in Clark County.

In addition, DOGtoberfest guests are encouraged to donate new dog leashes to the Animal Foundation.  For each festival package purchased and dog leash donated, Big Dog’s will add an extra three tokens to the customer’s festival package.

Vegas Victims Fund Tie-ins for DOGtoberfest 2017
Big Dog’s is partnering up with Jameson Caskmates Irish Whiskey to help raise money for the Vegas Victims Fund.  For a $5 donation, Big Dog’s will give the customer a #VegasStrong bracelet and a coupon for a Jameson Caskmates shot at the DOGtoberfest event.  All proceeds will be donated via Zappos.com’s Crowd Wise program to raise money for the Direct Impact Fund, with funds allocated to the victims and families impacted by the Vegas shooting incident.  Zappos.com is matching up to $1million for local donations to the fund.

Jameson Irish Whiskey is also matching these funds raised at the event.  Big Dog’s Brewing Company and Jameson Whiskey are co-partners (aka Drinking Buddies) in Southern Nevada, promoting Big Dog’s Locally Crafted Brews and Jameson Caskmates Irish Whiskey.  Earlier this year, Big Dog’s and Jameson Whiskey teamed up to create  a barrel sharing program, resulting in “Man’s Best Friend,” a Belgian-style Strong Dark Ale that had been aged in Jameson whiskey casks for an additional five months.  The resulting limited-edition beer is available at select retailers throughout Southern Nevada and at Big Dog’s Brewing Company.

In addition, the DOGtoberfest prize raffle will benefit the Direct Impact Fund.  The DOGtoberfest Prize Raffle will include great prizes like beer, wine, merchandise, show tickets, gift cards, electronics, and more.  The Grand Prize is a one of a kind customized Gibson Guitar that has been emblazoned with the logo from Big Dog’s latest seasonal brew – “I Ain’t Afraid of No Gose.”

About Big Dog’s Community Outreach

We are proud to be Las Vegas' original brewing company and we take great pleasure in serving our customers and our community. We love to support the community and the many great things that happen in Southern Nevada. Our approach to charitable giving is based on a steady stream of activities and promotions where small, consistent donations add up to larger support over time.  Charity tie-ins are a big part of Big Dog’s four times per year on-site beer and music events.  With our charity partners, Big Dog’s aims to raise awareness and funds for the following causes:

Winterfest                                                      Breast cancer Research, Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada
Peace, Love & Hoppy-ness                         Youth programs, Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation
Summer Beer Fest & Reggae Party            Food Insecurity, Three Square Community Food Bank
DOGtoberfest                                                Animal Welfare, Animal Foundation

Big Dog’s Brewing Company is Southern Nevada’s oldest brewing operation.  Having started in 1993 as Holy Cow! Brewing Company, the operations shifted to Big Dog’s Draft House in 2003. Big Dog’s operates a 15-barrel brewhouse that specializes in a wide variety of beers styles throughout the year, including India Pale Ales, Belgian-inspired brews, and luscious, barrel-aged stouts and porters.  Big Dog’s beers have been awarded 14 awards in major national and international judged competitions since 1993, including medals in the past three Great American Beer Fest competitions.  Dave Pascual, its Director of Brewing Operations, is the most decorated brewer in Nevada, having won 10 major medals and awards from national and international competitions in his 15+ years of brewing experience.

DOGtoberfest is one of four annual on-site beer festivals and charity fund raisers hosted by Big Dog’s Brewing Company each year.  Like the annual Winterfest (January), Peace, Love & Hoppy-ness (April), and Summer Beer Fest & Reggae Party (July) events, DOGtoberfest (October) will feature 45+ craft beers to sample and taste, live music from multiple local performers, delicious food from Big Dog’s Draft House, fun raffles, and more!  Since 2010, Big Dog’s beer fests have raised more than $20,000 for local charities and causes.
