Lady and the Stamp Czech-Style Dark Lager: A 30th Anniversary Collaboration Brew!

Lady and the Stamp Czech-Style Dark Lager: A 30th Anniversary Collaboration Brew!

This one’s special.

At 6% ABV, Lady and the Stamp is a Czech-style dark lager that’s the first of four collaboration brews in honor of our 30th anniversary!

Both the brew team and our collaborative friends at Silver Stamp – one of the coolest are beyond excited for this one.

Beware, this beer might blow your mind as it’s simple but also complex. Its floral, spicy hop, chocolate, caramel, molasses, and roast aromas create one sensational smelling beer.

The traditional Noble hops used to brew it make it crisp and balanced, and the dark specialty grains give it a wonderful malty character. Dark brown with crimson highlights, it gives you hoppiness upfront and a slight malty finish.

Soon you’ll be craving copious amounts of this cunningly crafted collaboration.

Love at First Smell

Czech-style dark lagers are smooth, rich, and malty beers brimming with all sorts of surprises, including notes of toffee, dates, chocolate, and roasty characters.

These dark brews with beautiful red tints vary in hoppiness levels, making each interpretation of this style of beer versatile and fun.

It’s the aromas of Czech-style dark lagers that hook you in. These spirited beers can smell of everything from bread crust, toast, nuts, dark fruit, chocolate, caramel, roast, and coffee to spicy hoppiness.

Think of fresh baked holiday bread…but liquid…and better with malty sweetness and subtle flavors of caramel, toast, nuts, licorice, dark fruit, chocolate, roast, and coffee.

These beers’ flavors, intertwined with hints of spicy hops, take the craft beer game to a whole different level.

Best Bites to Eat With This

Although Lady and the Stamp is practically a malty meal in a glass on its own, we understand that sometimes you need “real” food too.

When it comes to food pairing, try this beer with beef, especially steak!

When you’re craving the sweeter side of the spectrum, this brew goes divinely with desserts, so get in on those brownies and chocolates when drinking this.

Here’s a few Big Dog bites to take your beer experience to another level:

  • Our Build Your Own Big Dog’s Burger
  • Our Northwoods Ribeye Steak (we recommend throwing our cheesy potato cakes into the mix)
  • Our Country Fried Steak & Eggs (breakfast beers are the best, by the way)
  • Our Big Dog’s Brownie Sundae
  • Our Black Lab Bread Pudding (the ultimate comfort dessert)

Bet You Didn’t Know This

When most Americans think of Czech beer, they tend to think of pilsners, not dark lagers.

Funny enough, dark lagers were actually a thing in Czech before pilsners, and to this day they’re super popular in Czech taverns.

In fact, “tmavé pivo”, which means “dark beer”, is a specific type of dark lager in Czech and their second most popular beer.

They love it so much that Prague’s oldest brewery, U Fleků, (founded in 1499) doesn’t brew anything but dark lagers!

They even take beer-drinking to the next level. A study showed that the Czech Republic indulges in more beer per capita than any other nation…in the world.

Based on a global beer survey, in 2013 the average Czech person drank 147 liters of beer, while Americans drank about 76 liters.

Now that’s something to live up to.
